Our Little Helmet Head

Today Taylor got her STARBand Cranial Remodeling Orthosis.  She will eventually have to wear this 23 hours a day.  Today she only wore it for 3 hours... so it will be an exciting week!

She has to wear this because she had torticollis which is the shortening of one of her neck tendons.  It caused her head to always lean to one side at birth and therefore her head is mis-shapen.  We took care of the torticollis with stretches, but her head didn't even out on it's own, so we had to get this band.  She will have to wear the band for 3 to 8 months until her head grows into the open areas of the band.  The shorter time in this thing the better for Mom & Dad!

Here's some shots I got of her in it for the first time at home.  She's getting to be a little chunk too!

Taylor and her Dozer

Tonight Taylor and Dozer enjoyed playing with each other.

Dozer tried to see how many time he could lick Taylor without me catching him and Taylor was trying to show off her rolling over skills.

Trip to Cedar Creek

Jesse's parents invited the entire family for a great time at Cedar Creek Waterpark.  We all had a blast!  Here's a few photos of our family enjoying the day...

My friend Holly let us borrow this floaty for Taylor and it worked great!  I'm definitely going to have to get one of our own for this summer.

It was great to be able to spend the day together!

Taylor didn't quite get the hang of the Jumperoo this time, but I'm sure she'll figure it out next time.  She enjoyed watching her cousins and hanging out with Mom!

Dad got to watch Taylor after she was all tired out.

Taylor Rolling Over

It's hard to believe ~ but Taylor is rolling over already!  Here's one of the first times she did it.  Now I can't even stop her or keep her on her back!  I guess we have to start baby proofing the house to get ready for her to crawl!

Christmas with Dad

Finally we had our last Christmas celebration of the year!  It was a lot of fun.  We met Dad for the day at the Lodge at Cedar Creek and hung out all afternoon.

One extra surprise this year was that we got to meet our half brother David.  He's from San Diego and it was really great getting to know him!  I hope we'll get to see more of each other in the future.

Callie and I thought we all have the same smiles in this one.

This is Callie and I before she did the 7 shots of Patron and a lot of dancing that happened after Jesse and I took Taylor home to bed. :)

So much fun!  Can't wait until next year!

The Thrill of Family Photos

Why does it always have to be so hard to get a nice family picture?  I suppose 2 dogs doesn't make it any easier...

Take 1 -- We're missing Bernie - he refused to participate.

Take 2 -- Still not cooperating

Take 3 -- Pretty good!  And the dogs are actually looking at the camera!
